Summer Film Camps

The Summer Camps are experiences designed for teens in grades 6-12.  Most Film Camps are week-long programs that include large group teaching, small group instruction with amazing teachers, industry professional workshops, film screenings and a short film production team times where they make a short film from start to finish. These camps specialize in working with students getting started in filmmaking with an emphasis on instructors working very closely with students. The instructors work side-by-side with students through the entire production process.

We offer various Summer Camps based on the experience the student has with filmmaking. Our camps are an ever-evolving program so we often add new options based on student interests and overall observations of the overall program’s progress. Currently, we offer camps for Middle School and High School students as well as an Advanced Camp for High Schoolers.

High School & Middle School Camps are for students who are exploring an interest in film but may not have extensive exposure or training. Students learn the basics of the production process including story structure, screenwriting, directing, cinematography and editing as well as understanding creative collaboration and the dynamics of the different roles on productions. Students will create a short film to be screened for friends and family at the conclusion of the camp week.

Advanced Festival Film Camp is for students a who are looking to make a film to be submitted to large film festivals and want to add to their film reel. Students need to know the basics of how to use a camera, understand the basics of a set, know how to edit on Premiere or Final Cut X, and are ready to take on a larger production under tight deadlines. This is an intense hands-on experience where excellence and craftsmanship are at the forefront as you work on-sewith professionalal film industry advisors.
